Imbolc ritual tonight…I am privileged to give an astrological report. Here’s a preview:
Imbolc 2009, Sun in Aquarius, Moon in Aries
The First of February belongs to Brigid,  (Brighid, Brigit, Brighde)—the light-bringer. At this time of year, calves and lambs are born and soft rain brings new grass. Ravens begin to build their nests and larks were ...Read more.

I have a rich life!
I bought flowers yesterday—four bunches—for tonight’s lei-making workshop. I’ve got two kinds of compact-head mums, some freesia and ranunculus (which I can’t see in the photo; wonder how they’re holding up?). I cut them as directed and have kept them in the fridge until I leave tonight for class. I braided ...Read more.

This year is rocketing by! The 28th of the month. Lots of work going on, and lots of fun.
I’m very grateful for my rich and abundant life. And for my health.
For cold morning sunshine.
For my needs met.
For loving friends.
For a sense of humor.
For great colleagues.
For creativity.
For truth. Speaking it and hearing it.
For the smell of ...Read more.

Tuesday morning. 7:28 am. When I awoke, before 7, I noticed more light. How nice that the light is visibly coming back.
Imbolc this week. Already had one Imbolc ritual. Another one coming Friday. On Friday I get to invoke/devoke South/Fire. And do my astrology report. Last Friday I got to do an Astro report and ...Read more.

Gung hei fat choi. Happy new year, the year of the ox. The ox has many of the same qualities of Capricorn, grounded, practical. Bodes well financially, methinks.
Today there’s a new moon solar eclipse in Aquarius. A new moon for radical change. They (the astrologers whose blogs I read) say the temptation to take risks ...Read more.

Thursday morning, blessed rain coming down. Moisture, we need the moisture!
I’m grateful to be breathing through another moment of 2009 insanity. My claims are getting lost at my insurance company. Submitted 12/2, and lost in some vortex. No resolution. Which means no reimbursement. Bordering on bizarro. Last week I was told one of the two ...Read more.

Okay. I am still wildly happy about this…George Bush is not the president! Dancing for joy about this one.
I am actually more grateful about this fact than I am about the fact of Obama. Just sayin’.
I am more grateful about the historical and cultural implications of the election of a non-white guy than I am ...Read more.

gratituesday 1/20

Inauguration day. Nice to feel inspired, awestruck. And hopeful.
And ecstatic that as of an hour or so from now, George W will no longer be the president! Whoopdedoo!
Just sayin’.
I am grateful to be alive to see this, to be part of this happening.
I am grateful for another beautiful balmy day yesterday. I know I know ...Read more.

gratitude monday 1/19

Should be a quiet day for incoming phone calls and emails; it’s a holiday. And tomorrow’s the inauguration—big doings! How wonderful to see this day come, how wonderful on many counts—Americans elected a black president; George W Bush is outta there!—those are the top two for me.
I’m grateful for my weekend. Nice balance of rest ...Read more.

I pulled up to the gym at 8:40 last night for my late-night workout. As I was driving over there, I saw lots of police cars—there was another protest about the BART shooting. (I watched videos of that last night; chilling. Which doesn’t seem to be an adequate word for it.) The street in front ...Read more.
