Gratitude. Samhain season gratitude. Witches and owls. Brooms and blessings. Ancestors. Pictures of mom and her mother and her grandmother and my father’s mother and sister on my altar.
Circling with beautiful women of all ages. Sitting around a fire in the chilly late autumn air.
I’m grateful for seeing every woman I meet as a goddess.
I’m ...Read more.

Witchy morning. Samhain season. Day of the Dead. Ritual tonight. I get to priestess at a new coven for the first time. I’m nervous and happy.
I’m grateful for my life. For taking a big risk and inviting a bunch of people to my home for birthday tea. Watching myself agonize over responses and non-responses.
Oh well.
I’m ...Read more.

The moon is new in Scorpio today; the sun and moon conjunct in Scorpio. Can you feel it? Pluto is on its way back to Capricorn after a few months retrograde in Sagittarius. Once Pluto lands up in Capricorn around Thanksgiving, it will stay there until 2024. A cultural shift from Pluto’s influence (renewal and ...Read more.

Wow. Hard to believe it’s the end of October.
The wheel turns. And turns. And turns.
My favorite season, the witches’ high holidays. I love Samhain; I love Day of the Dead.
I had the best time at the Day of the Dead celebration at Oakland Museum. The gardens felt like a zocalo—a town square. Activity tables. Mummers ...Read more.

Thursday morning, 8:35 a.m. Up, showered, dressed.
Did my six minutes of low-impact aerobics. Heart is pumping.
Got some body work yesterday. Yum and double yum. Had a wonderful massage — first time with this practitioner — how nice to have a satisfying massage. And then a visit to my chiro. I feel pretty great.
My chiro gave ...Read more.

I am grateful! I completed three days of the master cleanse. The only solid food I ate for three days was some flax and hemp seeds.
I don’t think I’ve ever done a cleanse with so little food. In the past I’ve done rice diets and even date diets (a very very bad idea—way too sugary). ...Read more.

The darkness is increasing every day. Woke up at 6am; the sky was dark. According to Google’s weather gadget, sunrise was at 7:24 a.m. and sunset will be at 6:23 p.m. Working it, day by day, to the solstice. I always feel a bit compressed this time of year, the external and internal increasing darkness ...Read more.

Monday morning. Cold. Cold toes. Wishing I had some socks on. Hold that thought. Yum. My toes are now snug in my Uggs boots. Better.
I am grateful.
Truth first. I did not get on the scale Friday or Saturday. Scale phobia in the house. My jeans fit better now; that’s good. I’m on day two of ...Read more.

I skipped hula class last night! Wow. In favor of staying longer at the Green Business Awards networking dinner event at the Claremont Hotel.
It was a lovely event. Starting with my slimmest pants fitting me again. Woohoo! Still a little snug, but not bad. Not bulgy or uncomfortable. And that’s so nice, as I’ve been ...Read more.
